The most common shapes are rectangular, boat-shaped and racetrack. For smaller-sized meeting rooms, round, square and octagonal are also popular choices.
The base of a conference table gives it its distinct look, strength and stability. Typical bases include the panel-style base, trestle base, X-base and the pedestal base. Many tables also have traditional legs or legs with stretchers. If beverages and snacks will be a part of your meetings, buy a conference table with a thick protective finish and choose upholstered office or conference chairs with a stain-resistant coating or easy-to-care for vinyl chairs.
