I want to send a Memorial Card, when should I do it? by Tony Goold

A memorial card the bereaved remember loved ones. It is always produced close friends and family of the person who passed away. The piece states the date of birth, date of death and where the deceased resided. A memorial card main focus is to help the bereaved deal with the death by going through the process of assembling the various parts of the card that depict the remembered.

people do not want to make a memorial card but it really does help deal with the grieving process. It provokes memories and requires the bereaved to Choose a picture. Making sure it's a flattering picture of the deceased. Use the best photo you have of the deceased, since the photo will be the main reminder for years to come. Choose a picture which is light, preferably taken outdoors, which will show better skin tones.

The memorial card almost always contains a bible verse or poem that was a favorite of the deceased. Next to the picture, the phrase "In Loving Memory" or in Remembrance" the full name of the deceased, along with her birthdate and date of death.

Always remember to design the piece so it look well, remember not to make the piece too design conscious as this will date the piece. People will want to hold onto the memorial card for many years. Print the cards. Since memorial cards are treasured for years, don't use regular printer stock, Print on card or opt for paper that's a little thicker. Print the card in a profession full colour format.

An even better solution is to laminate the cards. To help the piece last longer, laminate it. However if the card design is a small page size laminating the card will not give a great result and the card will spring opne when folded. Laminating protects the card from being soiled by water or other spilled liquid, and prevents tearing and frayed edges over time. if you have friends in a hot climates use digital print, it will prevent the card from fadeing, and it should keep the colour better.
